I'm back

I've discovered there are two things I don't like about traveling while being single.

1. You don't have anyone to call and say "I made it safe and sound".
2. You don't have anyone to call and say "I'm home".

Yeah. Whenever I get home from a trip, I secretly wish someone would show up at the train station or the airport to greet me. But it's never happened.

I like having someone act like they are happy to see me when I get home. So I got a dog.

Heh- that's why I had kids, 'cause I got seduced by that whole 'no one will ever love you more' thing.

Which explains, of course, why my daughter throws fits when she sees me in the door of her after-school care place - or why she asks me to 'leave and come back once I'm done playing.'

From here on out, I'm sticking to that whole 'self-love' thing...

Oh, that's true, sugarmama! I have a cat that greets me at the door when I get home every night. That definitely counts.
(Now I feel like I've insulted my cat by not having thought of this sooner, but if you don't tell him, I won't either.)

SM - Animal deposit at the apartment is too expensive, plus I want a big dog so he'll need a yard.

Betsy - Self-love does have it's advantages. :)

C - Too late. I already told him what you said. He took it well, but for safety sake, I'd check my shoes before putting them on for the next couple of days. He wandered off muttering something about, "Forget ME will she...well, we'll see about that" and then did an evil cat laugh.
